What is Public Relations?
Public Relations is an exercise in the power of persuasion. At its heart, it is the art and science of influencing your target audiences and building positive relationships – i.e., relating to your public[s].
The mission of Public Relations is to create the desired perceptions about your company, product, service, C.E.O., issue, position, or contribution to the marketplace or community. What do you want people to know, think, feel or do? Executing effective strategies to get them to that place is the job of public relations.
