Julie Gross Gelfand Named One of LI’S Top 50 Women in Business
5.5.2008 - Julie Gross Gelfand of Long Beach, NY, Executive Vice President & Director of Public Relations for Harrison Leifer DiMarco, has been named one of Long Island’s Top 50 Most Influential Women by Long Island Business News, Roy DiMarco, President of the Rockville Centre-based marketing and public relations agency, announced today.
The prestigious annual LIBN awards program was created to recognize the significant contribution women make to Long Island’s business community and to the region’s economy. Winners are chosen by a panel of business leaders, based on professional accomplishment, mentoring and community involvement.
Ms. Gelfand was selected for her demonstrated record of success in building HLD’s public relations division into one of the mostly highly regarded agencies on Long Island and the metropolitan New York area. In addition to her on-the-job accomplishments, Julie is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselor’s Academy and has appeared on numerous professional panels and is regularly published in business journals. A member of the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island, she will become the newest member of the Board of the International Association of Business Communicators, Long Island Chapter, in July 08. She also serves on the Marketing Advisory Council to the Long Island Children’s Museum and is a past board vice president of the Long Island Advertising Club, where she chaired the Communications Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Barnard College at Columbia University.

The awards dinner honoring Long Island Business News’ 2008 class of Long Island’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Crest Hollow County Club in Woodbury, NY.
